Glenn Shane
CFP, Managing Director
Glenn was raised in Florida and a graduate of the University of South Florida, Glenn earned his Certified Financial Planner, CFP, designation in 1986 and was one of only 22 candidates nationwide to be selected by Prudential Securities for an innovative financial planning program. Prior, Glenn was an analyst with Dun & Bradstreet where he was named top analyst seven times in two years.
Glenn formed his own independent company, Shane & Associates, a Registered Investment Advisors, in 1988 before joining United Capital. He has served on the management advisory council at AIG Financial Advisors and has been a regular guest on talk shows in the Tampa bay area. Glenn has obtained licensees as a Certified Financial Planner, registered Investment Advisor Principal, General Securities Principal, Life, Health and Disability Agent and for fixed and Variable annuities.
Glenn has lived in the Tampa Bay area for over 30 years, currently residing in Palm Harbor with his wife Lara, and son, Cooper.
Durene Scott
CFP®, Practice Manager
Durene has a B.S. in Business Management from SUNY@Buffalo. She has 20 years experience in the financial industry working for companies such as Merrill Lynch and INVEST Financial Corporation. She earned her Certified Financial Planner certification in 1989 and continues to help clients identify and reach their financial planning goals. Durene has lived in Florida for 28 years along with her husband and two children.
Manuel F. Perez, MBA
Operations Manager
Manuel F. Perez, better known as "Manny" , was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Descended from parents from Northern Spain, he enjoys visiting his cousins when possible. Before joining Glenn Shane's office in 2004, he worked in the utility industry in Accounting for 30 years. Manny received his MA in Data Processing from Florida Institute of Technology in 1989 and his BA in Accounting from the University of South Florida in 1968. He is FINRA Series 7 licensed. Three grandchildren Sonnie, Ace, and Maverick (twin boys) keep him busy when not cooking, fishing, playing tennis, or walking the Gulf beaches with his beautiful wife Christine.
